Floorcloth image Gallery One of the most common 18th-century floor coverings used in both English and American homes was the painted floorcloth. These coverings were made by applying several layers of paint to canvas cloth and decorating them with many imaginative and complex geometric designs. Surviving pattern books and 18th-century merchant orders attest to the wide range of designs available to the consumer. These cloths have many modern applications and are practical decorative additions to a period setting or modern decor. Below are some examples of our more popular floorcloth designs. Of course we can create virtually any design you desire, these are simply representations of more historic traditional, deft tile and Carwitham floorcloth designs. We have also included a small sampling of our custom creations. Click on any of the images below to open a larger view in a new window.
